Oded Margalit is a computer scientist with a PhD from Tel Aviv University, which he earned in 1993 while under the supervision of Professor Zvi Galil. He is an adjunct full professor at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where he focuses on topics such as machine learning and cybersecurity. Oded has an extensive professional background in Machine Learning, Optimization, Formal Verification, Cyber security and more. He was the CTO of IBM’s Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CCoE) and CTO of Citi's Cybersecurity Innovation Center. Currently, he is the VP of Innovation and Data Science at Trellix. Additionally, Oded enjoys designing riddles: he served for 13 years as the IBM research's puzzle master and serves as a judge at IEEEXtreme annual computer programming competition since 2007. Oded is also a member of the advisory committee for Computer Science education at the Israeli Ministry of Education, where he helps guide the development of computer science education in Israel; and participated at the Technology, Security and Transparency Working Group (TST-WG) of the C20.
