Skills Shortage

To solve the most complex security challenges organizations, face today, industry, government and academia must substantially increase the number of cybersecurity professionals in the workforce. Barriers to entering the field must be eliminated, and educational opportunities must be increased to ensure that talented people from diverse backgrounds have opportunities to fill the growing IT and cybersecurity talent gap. To help compensate for the lack of skilled professionals, automated solutions must also become more sophisticated.

Interoperability and Open Cybersecurity Platforms

For far too long, cybersecurity vendors have hesitated to open up their interfaces and allow their competitors the ability to provide valuable capabilities that integrate directly with their own. Customers would like to be able to construct their cyber defenses using best-of-breed products that are interoperable, but the extreme difficulty of integration has made that effort extremely resource-intensive and costly. It is time for the open platform model to become the norm. In this model, proprietary technologies work together cooperatively in an open architecture, giving customers the ability to update solutions as needed when new threats are on the horizon and acknowledging no one vendor alone can solve every problem.

Privacy

For technology to be effective, individuals and corporations must be able to trust it. Trellix believes that trust in the integrity of systems – whether a corporate firewall or a child’s mobile phone – is essential to enabling people to get the most value from their technologies. Fundamental to that trust is privacy and the protection of personal data. Trellix is committed to protecting customers, and employees.

Public/Private Partnerships

Trellix believes that collaboration in cybersecurity is the best way to defeat cyber adversaries and secure our networks, data, infrastructure and even lives. We believe that strong, voluntary public-private partnerships are the best path forward to solve the grand cybersecurity challenges we face. These partnerships promote trust and innovation and are far better suited to produce long-term success than overly-restrictive and trust-eroding government mandates and regulation.

Critical Infrastructure

Trellix is dedicated to making the connected world more secure. The destruction or incapacitation of physical and/or information-based infrastructures from natural disaster, cyber-attacks, or other means could cause great harm to citizens, companies and governments. The challenge of protecting critical information systems and networks is global. It is therefore essential to approach the challenge of protecting global critical information infrastructure by adopting effective international strategies and solutions. As part of our dedication to serving the interests of our customers, we take an active interest and seek to influence the public policy environments in which our customers and prospects operate as part of a larger, win-win strategy.
