Trellix DLP Endpoint Complete (Windows 11.12 and macOS 11.11) enhances protection of sensitive information through:

• Optical Character Recognition (OCR) on Endpoint (Windows): Extends DLP capabilities to protect data within non-text file formats. 
• Enhanced Visual Labeling (Windows): Improves the accuracy and clarity of documents using manual classifications.
• Plug and Play Rules Support for UAS Devices (Windows): Provides more granular control over external storage devices.
• Clipboard Protection and AirDrop Monitoring (macOS): Monitor and block potential sensitive data leakage.
• Secure Evidence Transmission (macOS): Leveraging secure transmission methods for sensitive evidence files.

Get to Know the New DLP Endpoint Windows 11.12 Features

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) on Endpoint – This release introduces OCR within DLP Endpoint, expanding on our existing OCR capabilities in DLP Network Prevent and Monitor, as well as DLP Discover. This enhancement addresses the challenge of protecting sensitive data in images, screenshots, PDFs, and scanned documents. 

By extracting text from these formats, organizations can discover and protect information that would have been previously overlooked. This feature supports multiple Western and Asian languages, improving efficiency by reducing the need for analysts to manually verify non-text documents. A separate installer and an add-on license are needed to implement OCR for DLP Endpoint for Windows. For Data Security Suite customers, an OCR license is now included at no cost.

Enhanced Visual Labeling – This update enhances manual classification by improving the visual labeling experience. Organizations can now enforce a single label selection to help prevent misclassification and ensure DLP policies are applied correctly. 

Customizable, color-coded visual labels clearly communicate document sensitivity to users, which reduces errors and improves user awareness. This feature also supports compliance with data handling regulations by ensuring documents are marked according to their sensitivity level.

Plug-and-Play Rules Support for UAS Devices – To provide better control over external storage, this release introduces plug-and-play rules support for USB Attached SCSI (UAS) devices. This enhancement to our Device Control capabilities enables administrators to identify and track these devices.

Organizations can monitor and block UAS devices based on device properties, helping to mitigate insider threats and prevent data exfiltration. The system also maintains logs of UAS device connections for investigation and analysis.

Get to Know the New DLP Endpoint macOS 11.11 Features

Clipboard Protection – This enhancement monitors and controls sensitive content copied to the macOS clipboard. DLP administrators can define application-aware rules to detect and block the copying of sensitive data, such as confidential documents, customer lists, or source code.

Airdrop Monitoring – Organizations can monitor Airdrop transfers and prevent the sharing of sensitive data to unauthorized recipients. This feature helps mitigate insider threats and prevents the lateral movement of sensitive information within the organization. 

Secure Evidence Transmission – Ensure that sensitive evidence is transmitted securely and confidentially, leveraging WebDAV and Transport Layer Security (TLS). This helps maintain the integrity of an investigation process and protects sensitive data during transit.
